This session almost didn't happen.
Or rather, this session didn't happen two times but as they say, third time's the charm. Thanks to turbulent spring weather and illness, this session was cancelled, rescheduled, cancelled, and rescheduled over and over again. In fact, if we didn't say "Heck with our latest date, let's do it tomorrow while the weather looks good!", we probably would have rescheduled for a fourth time!
So finally, last month, I met Rainbow and Scott at one of my favorite spots in the Lake Placid area, the Adirondack Loj. Situated just outside of town, the Adirondack Loj is a hub of activity for hikers. Comprised of a large parking area, hiker information center, campsites, lean-to's, lodge (with family style dining, high recommend, by the way), and lake, it's the center point for many of the larger hikes into the high peaks.
It also has one or two hikes that aren't quite as strenuous but still offer those coveted Adirondack views therefore making it an ideal location for couples who want to take advantage of those vistas without hiking for 6 hours and arriving sweaty, disheveled, and exhausted. This hike is one of them.
The weather was finally on our side this particular evening and not only was the sun shining, but it was also one of our first "warmer" nights. Everything happens for a reason and I can say with confidence that this particular night was THE night we were supposed to shoot. I'm thrilled with how these photos came out and I hope you enjoy looking at them!
