lakeWhen I reach Michelle's inquiry back in November, I was immediately intrigued by her closing lines: "The wedding is going to be very intimate and simple, [and we] would like a photographer to capture the moment. It is not going to be a traditional wedding [and] we hope [you] can work with our unique needs!"
While my summer weddings tend to boast larger guest lists, winter weddings are generally intimate and small with only a handful of close friends and family. The guests may be few but the sentiment is there tenfold. Whenever a couple reaches out to me and says their wedding will be intimate and non-traditional, I'm immediately hooked. The wedding industry makes such a huge deal out of massive weddings with tons of guests and unnecessary extravagances that when these smaller weddings do roll around, they're a breath of fresh air.
Michelle and Brian were my first wedding of 2018 and said their "I dos" on a warm(er) winter day at the Lake Placid Lodge in Lake Placid, NY. Surrounded by loved ones and the beauty of the Adirondacks, the day was heartfelt, sincere, relaxed, and joyful -- everything your wedding day should be.
