Happy Fourth of July Weekend! I hope the last few days have been filled with BBQs, sun, outdoor activities, and maybe a few mosquito bites. Ok, I don't really hope you have mosquito bites but if you do, it probably means you've been doing something awesome though, right?
We've had a cool weekend up here in the Adirondacks and while it may not be perfect sun-bathing weather, it sure is perfect sleeping weather and I'll take that over warm, hot temps any day. Plus, my husband and I just purchased a new house that needs some renovations and the cooler weather has been much appreciated while working!
This upcoming week starts off the beginning of my 2016 wedding season -- yay! This Tuesday, I'll be traveling with Amber Lamphere of Saddleback Studio to Vermont to second shoot Mollie and Brian's wedding.
A few weeks ago, she asked me to come along on their engagement session. We both love getting to know our couples before their big day and an engagement session is perfect for breaking the ice! Mollie grew up in Wells, NY so we decided it would be the perfect setting for their photos (though we certainly wouldn't have minded using Brian's old stomping grounds as a setting, too... he's from Ireland!). We drove literally a mile or two down the road from her childhood home and bam! Found this spot. Literally, a mile or two. You can't beat the Adirondacks for picture perfect backdrops!
Watching Mollie and Brian interact and being the one to capture all their sweet moments together was such an honor. These two have personalities larger than life and were just such fun to hang out with! After an hour of taking photos and laughing almost non-stop, they invited us back to Mollie's home where her father had dinner and cold beers waiting. We spent the next few hours sitting by a campfire, eating delicious food, sipping cold brewskis, and hearing the tale of how Mollie and Brian met and the adventures life has taken them on thus far.
What a joy it'll be to document their wedding and celebrate with them in just a few short days. In the meantime though, I hope you enjoy their engagement photos!
