Snowshoeing Santiam Pass in Oregon

Over the last two weeks I've traveled from the Adirondacks in upstate New York to Pennsylvania to California to Oregon to Pennsylvania again and finally back to New York -- whew!

Originally a trip out west for a photographer's workshop, I figured while I was on that side of the country, I'd visit my sister and brother-in-law up in Oregon. As luck would have it, literally the day I arrived, Oregon received a much needed snowfall. They're down a wicked amount this year and with the wildfires that raged through the state last year, these few inches of white powder were gladly welcomed.

We gladly welcomed it, too! Lauren took a day off from work and we drove up to Santiam Pass to check out the cross-country, snowshoe, and snowmobile trails. Although the parking lot had a handful of trucks and trailers, we were the only snowshoers on the trails that day. Awesome until you're the one breaking trail for 5+ miles! I love snowshoeing though so it was well worth the exercise!

This is a completely personal post but I want to start sharing some of my personal adventures with you all so I hope you enjoy this! Let me know if you'd like to see more of these posts in the future! Also, I'n sorry for the poor quality of these images. Our internet has REALLY been struggling lately (our upload speed is currently less than 1!) so I needed to make these guys super small just to be able to post them. Rural life/first world problems.

Enjoy!
